A Backyard Event to Remember.
Backyard events can be incredibly intimate and beautiful. Bringing together your closest friends and family to share a once in a lifetime moment. There are quite a few factors to keep in mind when trying to plan out the perfect backyard event but with a little planning and the right professionals in place you can pull off an amazing event.
Rentals, and making your event POP!
When planning out your table layout out, one way to keep your event close and personal is by using a king’s table, making your dinner a family affair with everyone gathered all together. If your event is a little larger and you need more space you can set up rectangle tables in the shape of a “U”. This allows your loved ones to stay close and still feel apart of the conversation.
Bring in fun textured linens that show you and your significant others’ personalities. You can go with petal linens, that add flowing petals and romance to any event. If you’d prefer to go lighter on your linens a Shantung linen is a perfect choice. With a light sheen and woven threads throughout, it offers a soft texture with a luscious look that will make you and your guest feel like royalty. If you went with a muted linen, add a pop of color with your napkins or your florals. To upgrade this look add a charger plate with the napkin wrapped around the plate or hanging from underneath.
Lighting can make any event incredibly romantic. A soft candlelight glow can enhance the experience. Use uplights at the base of trees and shine them up into the branches or hang café lights. If you don’t have anything to anchor them to a lot of rental companies have their own equipment to pull this off. Add a ton of candles down the center of your tables.
Bring the fun in by dancing the night away. Most dancefloors can’t be put directly on grass. If you don’t have a patio to place it on, you can lay plywood down and have the dancefloor placed on top. You can also talk to your rental company and see if they have any types of structures to allow for café lights to be hung over your dancefloor. Another fun thing that can be implemented is yard games. Cornhole is always a hit, as well as Tic Tac Toe, Yard Jenga, Giant Connect 4 and so many more.
Don’t forget the tent and dishes. A tent will add shade and cover from the elements and allow a space to go if the sun is bothering some of your guests. To add a touch of elegance splurge on dishes and glassware. Some rental companies will even have multiple options to choose from. One benefit will be no dishes to do the next day. Add a pickup from your rental company and they will take care of the heavy lifting and washing. Leaving you to kick back and relax from a night to remember.
Have fun when creating a plan and decor for your special day! You can always turn a problem into a solution, especially when working with event professionals. Focus on the two of you and what’s most important in your lives. Highlight moments that are meaningful to you and in return will create an atmosphere that is surrounded by love which will shine through on one of your most precious days.
An option for the new “Micro Wedding” trend is people wanting us to set up and leave. Allowing their guests to serve themselves. We offer a few different “Micro Wedding” Menus and have they been a huge success so far. From fruit displays, to finger sandwiches to our amazing Caprese skewers with mozzarella and cherry tomatoes with basil & balsamic glaze. As a professional catering company, we can help walk you through foods that are best served outdoors and which you should maybe stay away from. All while keeping in mind the type of vibe you are going for, allowing you to go as fancy or laid back as you’d like.
Sky’s the limit with centerpiece options. There really is no right or wrong way to do it when being outdoors. We’ve seen everything from very simple baby’s breath in a jar to elaborate floral arrangements that sprawl across your table. Some advice I’d give would be taking into account the height and type of flowers you choose. Floral arrangements have a lot of weight to them and if you place them on tall standing vases, the likely hood of them falling over are likely. Some florals do better in hotter temperatures while others do not. Like Hydrangeas, they wilt pretty quickly, and by the end of your event may look subpar then when the event started. So just because your event is outdoors doesn’t mean you need to break out the mason jars and keep it simple, florals can elevate your event and still be appropriate for the setting. Just choose wisely when it comes to height and flower type for your display.
